3S upgrade kit filament type?

Is the filament that ships with the 3S self-printed kit prusament PETG? It has a label marking it as being "PrusaPolymers" but would like to know for sure to select the correct profile when printing.

Hi VintagePC,

I'm thinking that I'm stating the obvious here (could be missing the point) but if Prusa's kit information is correct it does list the material as PETG?

Parts List:
  • IR filament sensor + cable
  • PTFE tube
  • Fan-shroud-black (factory printed from ABS)
  • Bolts & fasteners, steel ball, magnets
  • Textile sleeve
  • 300g Black PETG for self-printed parts

Not really what I was looking for. I'm trying to ID whether I should use the "prusament PETG" temperatures or the "generic PETG" filament profile when printing with it. I know it is PETG, I just am unclear what brand it is since PR both manufactures their own Prusament line, and also rebrands Filament-PM as their regular offering.

Well, I am not sure but I do not think so.

I am looking at mine and the sticker says "PETG BL 300g made by Prusa Polymers" on it and has a QR code.  But, when I scan the QR code it just returns "1774" and not the Prusament info that you usually get with a Prusament roll...

Also, I noted Prusament likes higher nozzle temps,  240 - 250, and would not print well for me at 230 - 235 unlike the old Prusa supplied Filament PM, NGEN, and Hatchbox and Amazon Basics PETG.  I had to adjust my profiles for PETG once I got some Prusament PETG to increase the temps as it got really clumpy and sticky when I tried to print it at my set profiles at 230 - 235.

I printed my upgrade parts before the kit with the 300g roll arrived, so I used it for other things and it printed well with my non prusmament PETG profiles.  But it is a cool little spool to use for scraps and samples, so it is a keeper.

Can anyone please tell me how much the empty spool weighs? Thanks in advance

And yeah, definitely a keeper.

Sorry for hijacking the thread 😀
