Mechwarrior Timberwolf/Madcat

First real printing job on my first 3d printer. Just got my Prusa assembled a week ago and have been printing non stop. 😀

This is a Timberwolf / MadCat mech from the Mechwarrior online game. It'It's about 9" tall, and the detail is incredible. I'm very impressed with how well the Prusa performed.

This reminds me so bad to the end of the 90ties where I was playing Mechwarrior like nuts using the Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Pro. 😆
Love the print! Would also be interested in the STL if available. 😎

This reminds me so bad of the middle of the 90ties, when I was playing Mechwarrior like nuts using pen, paper and miniatures 😆

But yeah, i'd love to have that STL, too. Or is it the one from GamBody?

Looks like... http://www.gambody.com/3d-models/mechwarrior-madcat/ and additional weapons http://www.gambody.com/3d-models/timber-wolf-guns/

I think the designer is this guy: http://www.3ddesignerjamy.com/
He has many other models some are free but most of them cost. which is, at least in my perspective, totally ok if they work directly for printing (i.e. no shells, etc. like Angus mentions in his video about Gambody: )

Yeah, this is the same model as at gambody, and it was a bit of a pain to print. Looks like the model was pulled out of the MWO game and then slightly modified to make everything slot/plug together. There are some odd voids and such that need support in order to print, and those supports are never coming out.

The end results are awesome, but be prepared to do a bit of work in something like meshmixer to get everything printed.

So all as expected... Gambody clean their stuff up as Angus said. If it would be free I'd accept it but if you have to pay for it, the STL should be printable right away without fiddling around with Meshmixer etc.
It's a totally different storry when it comes to supports. But even then they could provide split parts which are easier to print and need less support or at least give some tipps and aid regarding the optimal settings.
That's what expect if I would pay for a STL. 😎
