The community edition (and myself and some other people I know who don't have a laser cutter) ended up using laminating pouches. They're not as transparent as plexi but since the shields are 1-use only it's not that bad. The thickness should definitely be 125 microns or more for the laminating pouches. 80 is too flimsy. I assume the same thing applies to "regular" shields. The normal material used for the shields is APET and I think you can by that on rolls for cutting but I can't help you with that.

XL (5T) / MK4 / MK3S+-MMU3 / MK3S / MK2.5S-MMU2S / Mini / SL1S

In Holland I bought PET sheet from Toemen Modelbouw. The protective foil on the sheets says: Covestro Vivak. Maybe this helps people finding the right sheets. I used 0,5 mm but 0,75 also fits in the Prusa head band frame. Sheets are 50 x 25cm

@fred-m8

Are these easy to cut and if so, how do you cut them?

Cheers

Kitchen scissors and perforator for the holes - easy.

BTW I used the carton inner part of a Prusament reel for the lower corners.
