Thank You

Well throughout all this pandemic while I was furloughed off work I had been printing the prusa face shield, some people were not happy as i wasnt doing the verkstan one I was printing less per day. My theory was I would rather print what people wanted than "get what there given".

I ended up printing and making 470 complete shields all of the RC3 type for health care and nursing homes in and around Durham, UK. I would like to thank Prusa for the time and effort they put in to them and helping us help other people, and last week I was given a nice little thank you from my local MP (member of parliament) for the help I had provided and also in the local newspaper.

So this is for everyone at Prusa.

RE: Thank You

Too many people turned it into a race and we're pushing out some really crappy frames. One don't was giving them out locally with no transparencies and the local FD wasted a lot of time trying to figure it out.

I did 200+ full DtM shields and a like number of Verkstan frames. I hand cut the transparency for the shields and made sure each one had a band. Much better to have out out quality, safe, usable stuff than stacks of hairy, incomplete junk. Good on ya!

The new threads that were started with all the Chinese(I think that’s what they were) characters. Prusa has since deactivated the account.

I have already done this.  Unfortunately, the comments have not yet been deleted.

RE: Thank You

Well done everyone involved in making face shields.

My partner works for the NHS and was making face shields for months and months on end during the peak of the pandemic, she is a dental professional , but due to lockdown her normal highly skilled job turned into making masks every day.

She did not mind, but it really is unforgiving finger bursting work, I doff my hat to you all (If I was wearing one)

Tank you very much!

Indeed Chuck

Many people go over and above and do not get the recognition they deserve.

It is the medical professionals who had to go without basic protective equipment who really deserve our thanks, as far as I am concerned they do not get paid anywhere near enough for enduring a truly horrific pandemic.

Yes.  I am taking 3 days of respite.  I have not taken a day off in over 12 months.  I did not realize how tired I was.

@cwbullet

Sleep for a week then I suppose 😁

I am tired as well, but for the opposite reason, far too much time on my hands.

Got the z motors link belt and pulleys upgrade for my X5SA Core XY today, going to fit that and see if it keeps the bed  level for longer.  Tis a bad mc for one aide dropping a fraction between prints.

That should keep me out of mischief for a few hours.

😳

Looking like I am back to work start of May, cant wait to get out and about and keep busy again.

Tank you very much!

Indeed it is, actually long over due.

The vaccine seems to be doing a good job at reducing hospital admissions, which is a great thing.  Hopefully the numbers will keep going in the right direction.

RE: Thank You

Good news

Apparently some EU countries have ceased the vaccination program due to concerns about blood clots.

Think that is a mistake, 22 cases in  18.1 million doses is not exactly what I would deem concerning numbers.

Tank you very much!
