@crawlerin

Yes, one can do that (one have to glue nuts underneath). But, yes - it does not solve the issue with skewed frame as i found out.

You can do nyloc mod on MINI? I am not sure it solves issue with skewed frame and gantry not being parallel though.

FWIW, my heat bed was almost perfectly parallel to the y axis rods and frame. No issue there.

My experience with the Mini so far hasn't been great either, had to fix clogging bowden tube issues and improperly assembled extruder idler right away. Then they had to send me a new MINDA probe because I kept getting an inconsistent Z offset from print to print.

After I installed the new probe did some G29 mesh leveling in Pronterface and dumped the output to a visualizer. I can see that my X axis is skewed as well, so far the printer seems to be able to compensate for it so I'll probably not worry about it for now. The hotend fan also makes a buzzing noise from time to time which is really annoying.

I really wanted something I could just print with and not have to tinker with all the time like my Ender 3 but I guess this is the price we pay for being early adopters.

I don't think the firmware can compensate for skew. I recommend trying to print a square, and measuring to see if you get a square, or a parallelogram (when looking down on it from the top)

I agree with assessment and solution.  Plastic shouldn’t have used to support the z-axis.  The small piece of plate bends every time you move it to clean, and the control box offers no additional rigidity.  Like you I use my printer to support my hobbies and other things I build.  But I have found it necessary to design and build parts to stiffen up the frame.

@pete-b3

There's none that I can see or measure with my calipers. It's off less than 1mm so 'd probably have to print something pretty big to see it I'm guessing.
