New user: calibration print errors

Hi everyone, new user here with a Prusa Mini plus...just got it yesterday. I am not fully versed in the lingo but I will do my best.

I'm having problems with the calibration print test...I have to ram the nozzle to almost -2000 for the filament to adhere to the bed. I'm using the Prusa silver filament that I also purchased along with the printer. I have others I can try, but so far I've just been using that.

I've tried the following:

Tried different beds, the smooth and the textured, same result. I clean the beds between each print. 

Made sure the Minda sensor was not down too far (others have mentioned it in very helpful posts I found here.)

I updated the firmware today and did a factory reset, but I have the same results. 

I can sometimes get an OK-ish test calibration but the nozzle has to be down anywhere from -2000 to -1950 for it to adhere. And the square at the end is never as solid as it should be. Otherwise if I go higher it looks like you are icing a cake really fast (if that visual makes any sense) 🙂 

I have only printed thus far from the included Prusa USB. I printed two Prusa logos that looked ok to me, but a friend said it looked like my nozzle was too low. But any higher, and it won't stick. I printed the Frog test print and it actually completed and looked ok to me, but that was my one successful print. I tried the whistle today and it failed (came off the bed) about 70% of the way. 

I have Octoprint setup (I did that in advance of receiving the printer because I was excited) but I need a data cable to connect my pi to the mini, so I am limited to USB drive printing for now.

I'm not sure what else to try, all diagnostics test ok. I feel like this is too many issues out of the box so I'm assuming it's something I'm not doing right? I've attached photos in case that helps.

Keep in mind, smooth sheet and texture sheet have different thick size which you need to calibrate each time you change from smooth sheet to texture sheet (or texture to smooth). Or you could adjust your SuperPINDA 2.5mm off the heat bed (with nozzle touch on heat bed), you'll have no problem keep Z offset way under 2.000. I think two credit card made up 2.5mm (if I read correct) or anything that you could use that are equal to 2.5mm height.

Other thing - texture sheet is ideal for PETG filament while smooth sheet is ideal for PLA. Even through I sometimes success print PETG on smooth sheet and PLA on texture. *shrug*

-that's a bad advice (or is a typo error).

SuperPINDA's distance sensitivity is about 2.3mm and if you raise it's height to 2.5 (while nozzle touches the bed), nozzle will most probably damage print sheet when print starts.
Recommended SuperPINDA height (while nozzle touches the bed) is 1.5mm. In this case we can expect to have about -0,800 Z-offset for first layer calibration on smooth PEI sheet, and about -1.400 for texture sheet.

Umm... I wonder why I put "2" not "1". I mean 1.5mm height, not 2.5mm.
