Mini Firmware Stuck: Change filament -> Calibrate First Layer -> FREEZE

I am having a consistent problem with my Prusa Mini firmware where it locks up during the First Layer Calibration.  Normally, it works fine but if I change the filament, load the new filament, and *then* do a First Layer Calibration, it will lockup.  It does the bed-leveling but then never prints the layer calibration pattern.  I can restart the printer, and redo the First Layer calibration but that specific sequence locks up consistently.  I think it's a lockup because the temperature values on the front-panel never change -- they get stuck at their current values.

Info
Prusa Mini
Firmware:  4.0.5
PLA Prusament

Sequence:
1. Unload previous PLA filament
2. Load new PLA filament
3. Start First Layer calibration.
4. Bed leveling starts and finishes.
5.  Lockup.  It should start printing the pattern but it never does.
6.  Reboot.

Have you tried doing a factory reset. If that doesn’t work I might have to reload firmware, It could’ve been a bad flash.

There were some changes related to filament load / unload in the latest firmware release. It might be worth updating to 4.1.0 and see if the problem is still there.
