RE: Bulging corners

@rickm-2

Thanks very much for the file and explanation. I had just tried something similar, but it was tedious. Hollow rectangle 100mm high and then manually edited the gcode file with notepad++ to add a M900 command every 10 layers. Great to know, you can just use a formula in the custom g-code section for that.

RE: Bulging corners

Question for people experimenting with these on the Prusa Mini, I understand that you are seeing "bulging" at high speeds, ie. 40-50mm/s, but without using the Linear Advance feature, are you also seeing them at fairly standard speeds of 20-25mm/s? Cause this is what I get on mine, I haven't really pushed my machine at all, I typically run on standard profiles and use Filamentum filaments, so filament quality also shouldn't be an issue.

RE: Bulging corners

@tompjagiello - most of the parts that I have seen issues on are when I've been running at speeds 35mm/s or more, but I think most of the parts that are more likely to have issues are also ones I tend to run fast for production purposes.  I have been wondering how my Linear Advance Tower for the Mini will respond when I run it at slower speeds.  When I get a chance I definitely intend to run that and I could also run some parts at lower speeds and see what the impact is, if any.

As a sidenote/question - when you say "without using the Linear Advance feature" are you meaning you are turning off or resetting LA, or are you meaning you are just running it with the default value of K0.20 or whatever is in there for Filamentum@MINI?

RE: Bulging corners

Hi Rick,

I wasn't aware it's enabled by default, just checked the filament settings and it has the M900 command there, so it's on at whatever lever it initially is set to.

I'm now even more surprised to see any bulging tbh as I'm running at low speeds  with LA on default setting.

Regards,

Tom
