20mm Calibration Cube not printing correctly, can't correct??
I also own Ender 3 printers. This is my first Prusa.
When I print the 20mm calibration cube I get the following:
x-19.93, y-19.90, z-20.01
I am printing items that require very tight specifications. How do I update the e-steps on the x and y motors like I can do on an Ender?
Thanks in advance for any advice on this one!
Do a search in the forum for "Dimensional Accuracy" and you will find a few very good (and long) threads that deals with scaling in slicer as well as calculating E-steps that can be put in the start code.
Most threads are in the MK2/3 sections, but should carry over to the Mini as well.
Thanks for the direction! I hope someday you can just tune these kinds of setting directly in the printer.
I think it would be a nice feature for sure as every printer has small differences during assembly.
Settings in slicer would work as well, just need a separate printer profile for each printer.
Also, another thing to check for accuracy is squareness and repeatability. So it prints the same model in the same dimensions over and over again and in different places on the buildplate.
Maybe you can help me with yet another challenge. I am a Mac user using Catalina. I have installed Pronterface (one of the suggested interface programs) and it doesn't see the Prusa printer. Actually it doesn't show any Com ports. So I think it is more of a Pronterface/Mac issue.
I really don't care which program I use. So I would would be open to using another program if you guys know of an option. Any thoughts/ideas around this would be appreciated. This is more of a project than I thought it would be 🙂
Sorry cant help with this one.
I'm on windows but i'm using a Raspberry with octoprint/octopi when i need terminal access to my printers.
I use sd-card for printing (i slice on win7).
Pronterface on a Mac should not be a problem (I'm on Big Sur) what could be an issue is that you do not have the appropriate cable (that the cable only has the connections for charging) and you do not have the appropriate serial diver installed (Apple added a lot of drivers in later editions) search the Interwebs for packages (since I'm on a later release I can not assist)
Look what i found (by accident while searching for other stuff) https://www.help.prusa3d.com/en/article/pronterface-and-usb-cable_2222
Might be cause for the problem?
